Celebrating the Fittest Loser journey

Today was amazing! It was Fittest Loser celebration day, and boy, did we celebrate.

First, we got treated to haircuts and makeup at Hip Salon, which was wonderful. Then, we had a fantastic lunch with our trainers at Seasons 52. We had some amazing flatbreads and their tasty little desserts in shot glasses, along with the entree of our choice. At lunch, we each gave a little speech to our trainers. I had mine mentally planned out, but I was not anticipating going into an ugly cry one word into my toast. I ended up saying about three sentences before I absolutely could not go on for one more word. Mortifying.

Following lunch, we had a few hours to get ready and then went to John Barleycorn for drinks, appetizers and the unveiling of the Fittest Loser winner. While John gave him a serious run for his money, Bob was the ultimate winner. He worked his butt off and it could not have gone to a more deserving person. He was given three free months of personal training and a free trip for two to Mexico–pretty amazing! Also amazing is that the rest of us were given three free months of boot camp at Push! I am so excited–I can’t wait to go back.

I am also thrilled that so many of my friends and family were able to be there with me tonight. It made me feel very loved! I missed Jon, who unfortunately had to take a final exam tonight.

I better run–I need to be out the door in five-and-a-half hours for my trip to Florida and I haven’t even finished packing!

About Kristen K

My life has always been pretty darn fantastic--except for one thing: my weight. Not too long ago, I tipped the scale at 283 pounds. I'd gain some, lose some and gain some right back, and I was so frustrated. When I saw a notice for a Biggest Loser-style contest in my local paper, I applied on the spot and I felt like I won the lottery when I found out I was one of the five contestants chosen. We worked out four times a week with trainers and followed a clean eating diet, and my life completely transformed. I've lost more than 60 pounds and I'm feeling confidence for the first time in my life. I'm 29 years old with a great husband, a rewarding job, two adorable dogs and fantastic friends. Weight loss continues to be a struggle now that the contest has ended, but this time I know that I can do it and I'm fully committed. This blog has seved as an accountability tool as I journey from a happy, but fat, person to a happy and confident person. And for the first time in my life, I'm no longer putting it off until tomorrow. This time, I'm starting this minute.

I forgot the best part: the results! I lost 47 pounds in 12 weeks, and my cholesterol and triglycerides each dropped by more than 100 points!

Congrats! That is quite an accomplishment in 12 weeks! 🙂 🙂
